POST-CARE & HEALING
Post-Care Guide for Your Brow Tattoo
Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure the best possible results from your Brow Tattoo.

AFTERCARE FOR YOUR BROW TATTOO

-
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE, Gently pat the brow area with a dry cotton round every 15 minutes for the next 3 hours. This will keep the area dry and clean and will collect the lymphatic fluids and prevent unwanted buildup.
-
DAY 2-5, Wash the brow area with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil twice a day and pat dry with a cotton round. Add a very small amount of the ointment you were provided with when your brows start to feel dry. Make sure to only add a little as too much ointment could negatively impact your results. People with very oily skin are not required to add ointment.
-
DAY 5-10, Keep patting the area dry and adding minimal ointment as needed. Continue to pat it dry with a cotton round and keep the area clean. The ointment is no longer needed after the scabs fall off.

THINGS TO AVOID AFTER YOUR BROW TATTOO

-
Avoid wetting the brow area (other than the cleansing regime that is required) for at least 10 days after the procedure. This includes swimming, gardenging, sweating, saunas, jacuzzies, and any activity that causes excessive sweating.
-
Avoid picking, peeling, or scratching the brow area. You will cause scarring of the area or removal of the pigment if you pick or peel scabs prematurely.
-
Avoid applying makeup or creams directly to the tattooed area for the first 10 days. Be sure to avoid Retin-A and Glycolic Acid.
-
Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for at least two weeks after the procedure. Sunscreen can be used on the brow area once the lymphatic drainage has ceased.
-
Limit contact with animals.
-
Avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating, such as strenuous exercise or hot yoga, for at least one week.
-
Avoid using any harsh products or exfoliants on the tattooed area for at least four weeks after the procedure.
-
Avoid drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds.
-
Avoid touching of the eyebrow area except when rinsing and applying the post-care with a cotton round or swab.
-
Absolutely NO use of any antibiotic creams or gels, or vitamin creams over the brow area –it will draw out the pigment.
Following these post-care steps will help ensure the best possible healing and long-lasting results for your brow tattoo. Be sure to consult with me for your specific aftercare instructions tailored to your individual needs.
The Healing Stages of Brow Tattoos: What to Expect
The healing process typically lasts 4-6 weeks, requiring extra caution with your brows. As the procedure delicately implants tiny pigment dots, creating a soft and smooth shading effect without harsh edges, your brows may appear slightly swollen and darker immediately following the treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE BROW HEALING PROCESS

DAY 1: During this stage, your brows may appear darker and blocky, and there might be redness and swelling. While you may love them right off the bat, It's important to be aware that your initial impression may not be entirely satisfying, but don't worry, it's a normal part of the process.

DAY 2-4: Your eyebrows might still seem too dark and thick, which could cause concern about the final outcome. Rest assured, this is a typical phase in the process.

DAY 5-7: As your brows heal, scabbing will occur and the scabs will eventually fall off. This phase can be challenging as it may result in patchy areas. Remember to avoid scratching or touching them, and stick to the aftercare routine. Patience is key during this time.

DAY 8-10: You may notice that your brows appear lighter than desired, and it might make you question the success of the entire process. Scabbing becomes less common, indicating that the healing period is nearing completion.

DAY 14-28: Good news! Your brows are starting to come back and take their final shape. They should look much better now, although some slight patchiness or unevenness may still be present.

DAY 21-30: Congratulations! Your brows have completely healed. If you haven't already done so, now is the perfect time to book a touch-up appointment. This will give you the opportunity to refine any final details and enhance your brows to perfection.

IMMEDIATELY ATER THE PROCEDURE, the area may look red and raw. Excessive redness typically subsides within 2-3 days, and skin flaking and scabbing are expected around 10 days post-treatment. While the treated area may remain pink or slightly discolored for several weeks, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is possible, but should heal with proper post-care.
